 Nan Heldenbrand Morrissette, the primary designer and owner of Rising River Silk & Design, has exhibited her work nationally in many museums and galleries around the United States. She has taught classes in silk gauze stitching, needlepoint, beading and in knitting design.
Nan spent more than thirty years as an information and records management consultant, and is the author of 6 books on information management. (See Financial Managers Society.) After she sold Confidential Records Center in Portland, Maine, she became the owner of Rising River Thread Express, a needlework retail business. Jean and Ron Mullenaux (she a crazy quilt fiend and he a computer genius) purchased Thread Express in September 2003, so Nan can now spend all her time creating wonderful needlepoint kimonos, miniature carpets, crazy quilt blocks, cross-stitch and other delightful kits.
Nan and her husband, Tom, along with their English Springer Spaniel (Alice), Westie (Theo) and Maine Coon Cat (Chan) recently moved to the Nature Coast of Florida and are loving every minute of it. Nan returns to Maine to visit family and friends every few months.
Production of our kits is done by Yodamo, Inc. of Port Townsend WA. Yodamo also produces kits for other designers and is best known as the maker of Eterna Silk, used in many of our kits. You can find Yodamo, Inc. at Eterna Silk
